CPT Editorial Panel Meeting Agenda Released

The agenda for the upcoming CPT Editorial Panel meeting has been released. The Panel will gather in Boston, MA, from April 30 to May 2, 2026. Updates to the proposed agenda will be posted on April 3, 17, and 24. Public comments from interested parties are due by March 31. CPT advisors from medical specialty societies will also submit comments. All these comments will be considered by the Panel during its deliberations.

This is the second of three Panel meetings for the 2028 CPT cycle. Category I codes approved at this meeting that require survey by the RVS Update Committee (RUC) will be surveyed for the September 2026 RUC meeting.

There are 65 items on the agenda. Notably, a revised version of a proposal discussed at the previous Panel meeting to update Appendix S, which describes the taxonomy for artificial intelligence-enabled CPT codes, is back on the agenda. While we start with 65 tabs, it is common for some tabs to be withdrawn before the meeting.
